“As a doctor, you treat people the way you want your family to be treated.”
- Dr Eric Hong

Dr Eric Hong is a dedicated cardiologist in Singapore with over 20 years of experience caring for heart patients.

He is one of few cardiologists in Singapore who subspecialises in interventional cardiology, nuclear cardiology, and multi-modal cardiac imaging. Committed to achieving the best possible outcomes for his patients, heart specialist Dr Eric Hong brings diverse experience from Ireland and the United States, and is double fellowship-trained in the USA.

Featured Heart Services

We offer a full range of heart services, from preventive care to advanced treatments. Our goal is to provide personalised care for every patient. If you have concerns about your heart health, it is best to consult a cardiologist in Singapore.

Our heart clinic offers a wide range of cardiac screening services and can provide tailored recommendations to each patient. We also provide advanced non-invasive multi-modality cardiac imaging, among other diagnostic procedures.

With a subspecialty in interventional cardiology, Dr Eric Hong is able to skillfully perform angioplasties to open up blocked arteries using a tiny balloon and catheter, improving and restoring blood flow to the heart.

Cardiac rehabilitation is a medically-supervised programme to improve heart health in the long run after events like a cardiac attack. This includes exercise sessions, educational talks, counselling, nutrition planning, and so on.

Sports cardiology focuses on the cardiovascular care of athletes and active individuals. It involves assessing heart health, optimizing performance, and preventing or treating heart conditions related to intense physical activity.

What influenced me the most was the realization that there is an art to medicine as well as science; and that warmth, sympathy and understanding may outweigh a surgeon’s knife or a doctor’s dispensed drugs.

Healthcare in Moderation

At EH Heart Specialist Clinic, we do not believe in excessive testing and procedures beyond what is actually useful and necessary.

Beyond that point, we believe that this could only result in higher costs and greater patient anxiety with no corresponding increase in medical benefits.

Many cardiac patients and athletes, for instance, visit us with a lot of worry and intent to perform as many tests and procedures (such as a stent) as possible, even when it is not actually needed in their case.

Dr Eric Hong will carefully evaluate each patient’s needs and concerns before recommending the best way forward in their best interests.

When Should You See a Heart Specialist?

As heart disease can worsen if left untreated and cause the likelihood of a cardiac event (e.g. heart attack, stroke) to increase; it is crucial to know when one needs to see a heart specialist.

Make an appointment to see a heart specialist if:

  • You have high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or diabetes
  • You have a family history of heart disease
  • You smoke, and/or are overweight or obese
  • You are inactive but plan to start exercising

Seek immediate and urgent medical attention if:

  • You experience chest pains, or a tightness in your chest
  • You find it difficult to breathe, and feel tired easily
  • You feel abnormal heart rhythms, such as fluttering or skipped beats
  • You feel dizzy and light-headed, and are worried you might faint

Our Insurance Partners

To keep our services accessible and convenient to our patients, we accept most major insurances and can assist with the claims process.

We encourage you to call our clinic so we can review your coverage and assist you accordingly.

Frequently Asked Questions

A referral is usually not required to see a cardiologist at a private clinic in Singapore. You can book an appointment directly.
If your symptoms are urgent, please contact the clinic as early as possible so we can advise on the earliest available appointment. If you have severe chest pain, sudden breathlessness, fainting, or other emergency symptoms, call 995 or go to the nearest Emergency Department immediately
EH Heart Specialist accepts most major health insurance plans. As coverage and panel status vary by insurer and policy, it is best to contact the clinic before your visit so the team can help verify your coverage.
Please bring your NRIC or passport, referral letter (if any), current medications, and any recent medical reports, scans, or test results related to your condition. If you have insurance or employer medical benefits, bring the relevant documents as well.
Consultation time varies depending on your symptoms and medical history. Initial consultations typically take longer than follow-up visits because your cardiologist may need time to review your history, perform an examination, and discuss possible tests or treatment options.
Your cardiologist will review your symptoms, medical history, medications, and risk factors such as high blood pressure, diabetes, cholesterol levels, smoking, and family history. A physical examination will be performed, and tests such as an ECG, echocardiogram, or stress test may be recommended if needed.
Follow-up appointments depend on your diagnosis, symptoms, and treatment plan. Some patients may need regular monitoring, while others may only return periodically or if new symptoms develop. Your cardiologist will advise you on the appropriate follow-up schedule.
